Why this site exists
Pay questions in this trade are usually settled by breakroom rumor, because the answers sit in hundred-page agreements nobody carries. AMT Index puts the ratified contracts side by side and cites every figure to the document, page, and section it came from, so the argument can end with a page number instead of a guess.
Who maintains it
AMT Index is maintained by a working holder of an FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate, employed as an aircraft mechanic at a US carrier. The maintainer is not named, and that is a neutrality commitment rather than an afterthought: the maintainer works under one of the agreements published here, so attaching a name would invite the perception that a particular union or a particular employer is being favored. Every figure on this site is checkable against the archived source document it cites, by anyone, regardless of who assembled it. The data does not need a personal signature to be verifiable — that is the entire point of citing the page.
The site takes no position on any union, election, or ratification vote. It is free for mechanics, always: no ads, no tracking, no accounts. Errors are corrected and logged publicly, permanently — see the corrections log and the methodology.
